Astronomers from Harward-Smitsonovskogo of the centre of astrophysics and the National radio-astronomical observatory (USA) have spent long supervision of protostar Source I and have created on the basis of the received images of video which illustrates movement of clouds participating in formation of a star of gas.
Young star object Source I settles down on distance 414 пк from the Earth in a fog of Orion — areas active звездообразования; weight Source I exceeds eight solar. The mechanism of formation of so massive stars has been studied insufficiently well: they seldom meet, and to observe them in optical and infra-red ranges stir surrounding clouds of a dust and gas.
Authors, having used a file of radio telescopes Very Long Baseline Array, spent sessions of supervision every month within two years. Telescopes registered gas clouds моноксида silicon — мазеры, natural sources of radiation of the MICROWAVE RANGE which are often found out in areas of formation of stars. Some of these мазеров approached record-breaking close to a protostar — on the distance separating Jupiter from the Sun; many sources remained for long time, and scientists managed to create a three-dimensional picture of their movings.
Having united all saved up images, astronomers have seen traces rotating аккреционного a disk gas in which gradually comes nearer to a protostar. At the same time the substance is carried away in surrounding space from both parties of a disk in a direction, perpendicular to it. The leaving disk gas moves on a difficult trajectory which defines, according to authors, a magnetic field; all system as a result gets the form of a sand-glass. «By consideration of formation of massive stars magnetic fields considered пренебрежимо weak, — the participant of research tells Lynn to Metjuz (Lynn Matthews). — But мазер would not began to move on an arch if it was not influenced by any force. We think that it has a magnetic origin».
Scientists plan to continue regular supervision in hope to find out parametres of a magnetic field and to understand it plays what role formation of stars.
