Forty years ago world population totaled all 10 thousand individuals, and today in the USA, the countries of Caribbean basin, Latin America and Persian gulf live more than 650 thousand birds. The brown pelican has been declared for the first time by being under the threat of disappearance in 1970, to that by the reason — a fashion on its feathers in female hats in the end of XIX and the XX-th century beginning, and also the latest distribution инсектицида ДДТ which led истончению walls of eggs of a pelican.
