To such conclusions the scientists of the Texas university who has published the point of view in magazine Nature Geoscience have come. They have analysed the seven-year data of companions GRACE about interaction of ocean and glacial boards Antarcticas received thanks to measurements of fluctuations of a gravitational field of the Earth. Having correlated this information with results of other researches, scientists have concluded that the Western Antarctic loses in a year on the average 132 млрд ice tons, and East — 57 млрд tons.

Let's remind: recently it became known that the temperature of Antarctic in interglacial ages was above today's on six degrees, instead of on three as showed the previous researches. It testifies that Antarctic reacts to changes of concentration of hotbed gases in atmosphere more sensitively.

In 2007 the Intergovernmental commission of experts of the United Nations on climate change has foretold that by 2100 the sea level will rise on 18–59 centimetres, but possibility of utter annihilation of glacial boards of Greenland and Antarctic of that scientists start to be afraid recently seriously thus was not considered. The western Antarctic contains stocks of the frozen water, sufficient for rising of sea level on five metres.

Many researchers consider that even if to reduce emissions of hotbed gases, by the end of century the World ocean all the same will rise on metre because of what the island states and river deltas in which live hundred millions persons will be flooded some.
